Performers from the Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque, along with additional guest artists, will be appearing at the City Arts: A Fair Park Festival. The VK will be performing on May 9th on the dance stage. The City Arts Festival runs May 7th - 9th at the Fair Park in Dallas TX, and is presented by TXU Energy. City Arts is a free event.

Burlesque Boas and Blues Workshop begins on Monday!

It's still not too late for early registration of our May Burlesque Workshop: Boas and Blues!
The Velvet Kittens' Burlesque Boas and Blues workshop is a combination class of Burlesque Body Sculpt and Boa Burlesque, from the VK exclusively designed burlesque dance curriculum. Boas and Blues will be offered at the Verandah Club on Monday nights starting next Monday, 6:30 -7:30 pm. This workshop runs for three Mondays, May 3, 10, and 17th.
RATES: The class is free for Verandah members, non members can register in advance through Cara Young at the Verandah Club and receive the early bird rate of $30.00 (plus tax) for the May session. Late registration is $45.00 (plus tax).
The Verandah Club is located at 2201 Stemmons Freeway, on Wycliff, behind the Hilton Anatole. Contact Cara Young for more information and registration at [email protected] (cara dot young at Hilton dot com).
Boas will be available for pre-registered students during the workshop, or students are welcome to bring their own!

"Spring" into action! MBS Productions Fundraiser

MBS Productions is coming to the end of their spring fundraiser, and only has $165 more to go to reach their goal!
If you would like to contribute (or contribute more) MBS Productions are offering as an incentive:
1 free ticket to either Dream Cafe or Kiss the Boys for a $25 contribution.
2 free tickets to Dream Cafe or Kiss the Boys for a $50 contribution.
6 free admissions to either of those shows for a $100 contribution.

And yes, Dream Cafe tickets are on sale! MBS has had a big rush of ticket sales for this show, so if you want to get the best seats you may want to act early. Also keep in mind this play has nudity in it so you must be 18 or older to attend.
The play follows the life of a middle age gay man named Bryan searching for love as he copes with the modern world of dating. What makes the play unique is that 5 scenes will be presented in the order chosen by an audience member. The result? 120 possible story combinations! In other words, odds are every night the play will be different. Dream Cafe is a very adult comedy (emphasis on adult) written by MBS' resident playwright Alejandro de la Costa who penned last year’s smash hit Adam and Eve in the Garden of Delights of Love. and new to the MBS company Robert Barshofsky and Kyle roark who will alternate nights playing the role of sexy Tony.
The play is directed by award winning director Charles Ballinger, who also directed MBS' productions of A New Drama and Persistence in Memory, and Dream Café production Assistant and Stage Manager is Lara Davison.

The Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque cast will headline this event in a mini-revue following featured guests to include comedian Tony Stone and more. The premier of €˜Vaudeville' will be Saturday, April 24th at 7:00 PM at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas, TX. The proceeds from this event will benefit the American Cancer Society and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. As we say hello to summer, we challenge you to get beach body ready with our new Beach Body Burlesque Workshop: Summertime Blues!
Beginning with our Burlesque Body Sculpt foundation of stretching and toning, we add the tease factor with some good €˜ole boas and blues! From our Sugar Moonlight Classic Burlesque Revue, we sass up some of the sexiest blues music with our signature burlesque dance choreography. For the month of May we will learn one dance to the blues song "Boom, Boom" (by John Lee Hooker) and dancing with our lovely partner, the feather boa!
