August’s featured Burlesque Body Sculpt â„¢ is “Back To School!â€
This BBS workshop combines fun and flirty dance movement set to the song “School Boy Crush.â€Â BBS’s “Back to School†workshop is available Monday nights in Dallas, 7:30 – 8:30 pm, August 8, 15, 22, 29.
Floorplay is a 30-minute sexy fitness class with sassy dance moves on the floor, working abs, arms, and legs using flirtatious and slow dance movement.

New York Tap Dancer, Artistic Director of Cats Paying Dues PLUS, and Steps on Broadway faculty member, Andrew Nemr is co-founder, along with Gregory Hines, of the Tap Legacy Foundation, Inc. and is a card-carrying member of the original Copasetics, Inc. Andrew has been blessed to receive the guidance of many of the great tap dancers including Eddie Brown, Harold Cromer, Dr. Bunny Briggs, Dr. Jimmy Slyde, Dr. James “Buster†Brown, LeRoy Myers, Ernest “Brownie†Brown, Henry “Phace†Robers, Dr. Henry LaTang, Mable Lee, Ernest Pratt, Dianne Walker, Savion Glover, Ted Levy and Gregory Hines. Mentored by Hines, Nemr’s work has been described as “a welcome return to the elegance of simplicity and the tap dancer as a maker of aural magic.†(exploredance.com)

“Fedora Fever “

“Fedora Fever” is all about class and style using the fashionable burlesque prop, the fedora hat. Set to the sultry and steamy blues song “Every Night,” trainer Jana Edele, artistic director and choreographer of the Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque, begins with a 30-minute stretching and toning warm-up followed by signature burlesque dance choreography focused on slow hip and shoulder isolations and sultry burlesque movement. Fedoras are provided, and students are welcome to bring their own.
“If Loving You is Wrongâ€
Saturdays, 12:00 – 1:00 pm
Includes July 9, 16, 23 and 30

“If Loving You is Wrong†is from the Velvet Kittens repertoire, and a favorite among students. Incorporating the dance props of bowler hat, cane, chair, tie and button up shirt, this is one sassy Burlesque Body Sculpt ™ dance you don’t want to miss! Chairs, hats, and canes provided.

“The Hot Seat†– Level 2 workshop is from the Velvet Kittens repertoire. Originally choreographed by request for Island/Def Jam party for the release of the Killers newest CD. Choreography is a cross of old school Vegas mixed with modern burlesque style and is set to “When You Were Young.â€Â This workshop incorporates both the feather boa and the popular dance prop, the chair.
(It is recommended that students be at an intermediate level, having taken at least 3 BBS workshops before taking this class or get approval from Jana)

About Brandi:
 
Brandi Wellborn’s dance training starts early with ballet, tap, and jazz. She found a new love with teaching dance when she began instructing in her teenage years. In 1999 Brandi moved to Southern CA and began experimenting with differ forms of dance and was introduced to the Belly Dancing circuit and her first performance opportunity in the dance troop Emeralds of the Nile. Brandi fell in love with tribal fusion belly dance when she found Rachel Lazarus-Soto teaching in Colton California. When Devadasi was formed 2003, Brandi jumped on the opportunity to be a part of something so special. Moving to Texas Brandi danced in the group Liquid Hips, and then moved on to BellaNaTana. Brandi continues instruction of Tribal Belly Dance at special events and classes throughout DFW.
Velvet Kittens Show!

The Velvet Kittens of Le Cabaret Burlesque will be presenting a full-length revue show at the Can’t Stop the Serenity music showcase! The VK of LCB shows provide a cast of professional dancers, singers, and actors for an evening of comedy, dancing, and live “vintage nightclub†entertainment that’s unlike anything else in DFW! We will also be featuring guest performances by both Dallas and Fort Worth Burlesque Body Sculpt™ student dancers.
Join us Sunday, July 10th at the Fort Worth Grotto (517 University Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76107) at 7:30 pm and help us raise money for a great cause! Tickets/cover: $5.00

Between May and September thousands of people around the world will participate in “Can’t Stop the Serenity†fund-raising events to benefit “Equality Now,†a charity organization working to protect the basic human rights of women and girls across the planet. The volunteers who organize the “Can’t Stop the Serenity†charity events are fans of the sci-fi television series called “Firefly†and its climatic movie, “Serenity.â€Â This annual celebration of equality and Joss Whedon’s birthday is known as “Can’t Stop the Serenity,†and the men and women behind it are simply known as “Browncoats†after the heroes of the show.
