Burlesque Class Q & A
Posted by Jana Edele | Filed under News
What do I wear to burlesque class?
It is recommended students wear comfortable clothing easy to move in. This includes gym shorts, leggings, leotards, tights, form-fitting tee shirts; anything appropriate for gym wear or dance class. It is also recommended to "layer" clothing during cooler weather (ballet sweaters, leg warmers, warm-ups, etc).
Jewelry, other than stud earrings, is strongly discouraged for safety reasons.
What about shoes?
For all classes/workshops held in a dance studio, it is recommended to participate in one of the following: jazz shoes, dance sneakers, ballet slippers, socks (in warm up only) or barefoot.
Athletic shoes are also welcome, but must be solely used for the dance class/workshop. Outside shoes are not permitted on the marley dance floors.
What about high heels?
The introduction of heels into the dance sessions will be discussed on a class-by-class basis. Heels are only permitted in specific classes and workshops.
Heels are appropriate for Fort Worth's Tuesday night Burlesque Class at the Vault in downtown Fort Worth.
